Patrick Jouin and Monica and Giuseppe Pedrali first met in 2011 at the ADI Compasso d’Oro awards ceremony in Rome. This decisive moment gave rise to a collaboration founded on mutual respect and a shared vision of innovation in design. Soon after, we met to discuss creating a seat combining elegance and comfort for the prestigious London restaurant, Alain Ducasse at the Dorchester. The result was Ester, a chair that unites beauty and functionality with its polyurethane seat and soft, sinuous forms.
A decade later, the chair furnishes some of the most renowned restaurants and hotels around the world, from the Alain Ducasse restaurants at the iconic La Mamounia hotel in Marrakesh, to the Air France Lounge in terminal 2F of Paris–Charles de Gaulle airport. Ester has evolved over time, giving rise to its own family of furniture. This collection represents our design philosophy and aspiration to meet the various needs of today’s spaces: stools, armchairs and desk chairs in a symphony of forms and functions.
In celebration of these ten years of creative collaboration, which have seen the launch of the Elliot tables, the Ila armchair, the Social modular sofas and the polyvalent Reva collection, we decided to expand our iconic line with Ester Lounge. This latest addition marks a new chapter in our shared history, illustrating our continued commitment to elegance, comfort and innovation in design.
