“Those familiar with my work will recognize in this chair my obsessions with the interplay of fullness and emptiness, as well as the delicate balance of proportions. Subtle innovation, focused on comfort with the least amount of material possible, without foam or artifice.”
To create a clean, streamlined look, we chose to lay the sheet of leather over an iridescent steel tube structure. This structure fades into the background, allowing the leather to take center stage. This illusion of lightness is made possible through complex craftsmanship; joints and fastenings have been minimized to enhance this airy impression. Preserved in its raw, noble state, this vegetable-tanned leather develops a patina over time, shaped by light and use.
